Power will attend the Asia Television Forum (ATF) this month with a portfolio of new co-productions and a diverse slate of TV series and mini-series.
Power’s lineup includes the 2×2-hour action thriller XIII: The Conspiracy, which stars Val Kilmer and Stephen Dorff; The Summit, a two-part mini-series for CBC from writer John Krizanc; the 2×90-minute original dramatic TV movie Flood; and Pinocchio, an adaptation of the classic fairy tale, starring Bob Hoskins, Robbie Kay and Joss Ackland.
Also available at the ATF is Power’s newly commissioned 13-hour remake of the television classic Robinson Crusoe for NBC. The show is an adaptation of Daniel Defoe’s novel and centers on the challenges faced by the castaway.
The Power Thrillers on offer include the made-for-TV movies Lethal Obsession and Voices. Lethal Obsession stars Kellie Martin (Live Once, Die Twice, ER) as a young mother who is hiding from her past, and Voices follows the journey of a recently widowed woman named Ellie, played by Amy Acker (Angel, Alias), who discovers she has the ability to communicate with the dead.
George Sakkalli, Power’s VP of Asian sales and distribution, said: “With its growing appetite for foreign entertainment, Asia is an extremely important marketplace. Our aim will be to forge new local alliances to meet the demand for both content and distribution, whilst significantly increasing Power’s presence in the territory.”
