I’ve added more than 160 new photos from the 67th Venice Film Festival to the gallery. Stephen, co-star Elle Fanning and Director Sofia Coppola arrived in Venice a few days ago to promote their new film “Somewhere“. The film premiered at the Festival on Friday night.

Coppola received a standing ovation at a press conference packed with hundreds of journalists following a morning press screening and just hours before the premiere gala on Friday night. First-day audiences already are comparing it with Coppola’s “Lost in Translation,” for which she won an Oscar for best original screenplay, and both films offer up her observations on fame and solitude.

“I think the movie is about his becoming a man,” Dorff said at the press conference.

“A lot of characters I’m interested in are at a transition in life,” Coppola said. “Elle’s character is something real in a world not based on real things.”

“I wanted to write a story from a man’s point of view,” she said. “When I was first writing the script, Stephen came to mind.”

Dorff praised Coppola and described making the film as “one of the most incredible experiences I’ve had. It made me really sad when it ended.”

And rave reviews are pouring in for the movie and for Dorff’s performance.

I’m excited to announce that Apple have released the trailer for Somewhere. It looks amazing and beautiful off course! You can check it out HERE. Be sure to watch it in HD! I’ve also added 51 HQ screencaps from it to the gallery.

As I previously mentioned, the film is set for release by Focus Features on December 22, in time for Oscar contention, and features music from Phoenix.

The poster for Somewhere has been released. It’s very cool in the typical Sofia Coppola style off course! I have added it to the gallery along with a few exlclusive on set pics. The film is set for release December 22, and according to Stephen, will feature at the Venice and Toronto Film Festivals.

Stephen is featured in the February/March issue of Wonderland magazine. Interviewed from the Beverly Hills Hotel “over one of the restaurant’s famous McCarthy salads, an iced tea, a skim latte, and a cigarette or two”, Dorff chatted about working with Sofia Coppola, and how he’s bracing for his life to change in the next few months.

Johnny Marco (Stephen Dorff) is a bad-boy A-List actor stumbling through a life of excess while living at Hollywood’s legendary Chateau Marmont Hotel.  His days are a haze of drinks, girls, fast cars and fawning fans.  Cocooned in this celebrity-induced artificial world, Johnny has lost all sense of his true self.  Until, that is, his 11-year-old daughter Cleo (Elle Fanning) unexpectedly shows up and unwittingly begins to anchor him.  Johnny’s fragile connection to real life slowly revives in her presence. So when the time comes fro Cleo to leave, his sense of loss is palpable, but the gift of hope she has also brought him leads to a beautiful, poetic denouement imbued with all of Coppola’s remarkable powers to conjure mood and atmosphere.

Filming for Stephen’s latest movie Somewhere has started in Milan, Italy, and I’m pleased to say that we have some on set images. Stephen was seen with co-star Elle Fanning, who plays his daughter in the film. A huge thanks to Jess at Totally Elle, for allowing me to post them here.
