Somewhere is a witty, moving, and empathetic look into the orbit of actor Johnny Marco (played by Stephen Dorff).
You have probably seen him in the tabloids; Johnny is living at the legendary Chateau Marmont hotel in Hollywood. This is the story of the last few years of the notorious bank robber John Dillinger. He loved what he did and could imagine little else that would make him happier. Living openly in 1930s Chicago, he had the run of the city with little fear of reprisals from the authorities. It’s there that he meets Billie Frechette with whom he falls deeply in love. In parallel we meet Melvin Purvis, the FBI agent who would eventually track Dillinger down. The FBI was is in its early days and Director J. Edgar Hoover was keen to promote the clean cut image that so dominated the organization through his lifetime. Purvis realizes that if he is going to get Dillinger, he will have to use street tactics and imports appropriate men with police training. Dillinger is eventually betrayed by an acquaintance who tells the authorities just where to find him on a given night.

2007 The Passage …. Luke
The film follows a fun-loving American and his jocular British pal on a trip to Morocco that soon gives way to paranoia, fear, and the frightening effects of the globalized economy. Adventuresome backpackers Luke and Adam are living it up in Morocco; their days filled with good food and their nights punctuated by endless parties. The trip seems to be the perfect means for Luke to move past the recent death of girlfriend, and before long he even connects with a beautiful local named Zahara. Despite their undeniable attraction to one another, Luke and Zahara are careful to keep their distance in public in order to respect the local customs. Later, the three new friends decide to take a two-day trip to an ancient mud house in the scenic Atlas Mountains in order to get better acquainted and take in some sights that most tourists never see. When Luke learns that there are a series of underground tunnels that connect all of the huts in the region, his curiosity gets the best of him and he soon descends into the darkness to explore. But there’s more to this story than Luke knows, and somewhere deep in these winding and pitch-black passageways, an evil the likes that this naïve American every imagined patiently awaits his arrival.

Sergeant John McLoughlin and William J. Jimeno were two officers assigned to New York City’s Port Authority who were working their beats on a quiet day in early fall when they received an emergency call. As the McLoughlin and Jimeno families waited for word on the fate of the two men, they watched as a city and a nation came together with strength and compassion in the face of a tragedy.

2005 Alone in the Dark …. Cmdr. Richard Burke
An otherworldly investigator learns of a secret which could mean the end of civilization as we know it in this thriller based on the popular video game Alone in the Dark. Edward Carnby is a detective with Bureau 713, a secret investigative team affiliated with the United States government that explores supernatural and paranormal events. One of Carnby’s assignments leads him to discover the secrets of the Abskani, an ancient tribe that worshiped demonic forces which gave them incredible powers. Carnby’s findings suggest that the Abskani are poised to return to take over the world, and only one person has the knowledge to stop them — archaeologist Aline Cedrac, who happens to be Carnby’s former girlfriend. But Carnby’s psyche has been tainted by his encounter with the Abskani demons, and he must now fight against their attempts to take over his mind as well as their attempts to conquer the Earth.

After he’s released from prison, Massie makes it clear to the new owners that he wants his home back, and before long Cooper and Leah begin learning the disturbing truth about the history of the mansion — and that many Cold Creek residents don’t take kindly to new arrivals.

Mike Reilly is a NYPD detective who has been assigned to look into a string of murders which have taken place in Manhattan, with Terry Houston, a researcher from the city Department of Health, lending her assistance whether Reilly likes it or not. Reilly discovers that all four victims have one thing in common — they were all men who logged on to the same Internet website exactly 48 hours before they were killed. It seems the website features a sexy woman offering kinky fun to those who enter her domain, but clicking the wrong icon takes users on a journey into fear. Reilly decides the only way to find out the truth is to head into the website and find out what follows for the next two days — if he can make it out alive.

The film’s confusing title history involves four working titles and an international release under the name Steal. A bleached-blonde Stephen Dorff plays Slim, the leader of an extreme sports criminal gang, consisting of Alex, Frank, and Otis. They wear stylish clothes, rob banks, and get away on rollerblades. Slim’s group is pursued by crazed cop Jake Macgruder and Southern-style villain Surtayne. She Spies actress Natasha Henstridge stars as femme fatale Karen.

Jake Walsh is a film director who attends a fashion show with some friends and meets a French model named Stella. The attraction between the two is immediate, and after a brief courtship they’re living together. However, between his career in film and her career as a model, they don’t spend as much time together as they’d like, and they begin to drift apart; when Stella one day announces she’s pregnant, Jake displays no particular enthusiasm for the idea of raising a child, and Stella ends up having an abortion. Eventually, the two break up and Jake finds himself married to a woman he barely knows, not quite sure what happened. As he muddles through his romantic problems, Jake also has to deal with the often puzzling hierarchy and the bizarre office politics of Hollywood.

In the Tomb of Dracula comic book origin, just before Blade’s mother gave birth to Blade, she was bitten by a vampire, which made Blade immune to vampires. Now a vampire hunter, Blade, joined by vampire detective Hannibal King and Dracula-descendent Frank Drake, stalks vampires. In the 1990s, Blade teamed with Drake and King in an agency created to fight a variety of supernatural beings. The Marvel origin is retold in this 1998 Norrington film, with Blade’s mother dying as he is born. Thirty-some years later, Blade now exists somewhere between the two worlds, not human but not fully vampire. He has become a relentless and superhuman vampire hunter, out to avenge the death of his mother and protect the rest of humankind from the evil vampire race. In this pursuit, Blade storms a notorious vampire nightclub and in a virtual bloodbath manages to wipe out most of the blood-lusting denizens. But the burnt corpse of vampire Quinn is reanimated at the hospital morgue and bites hematologist Karen Jenson. Blade magically appears at the hospital just in time to whisk Karen to his hideaway, a machine-shop run by his mentor Abraham Whistler, who once rescued Blade and who now produces a antidote to keep Blade from turning into a full-fledged vampire and who builds custom weapons for Blade to use against his evil foes. Meanwhile, Blade’s vampire arch-nemesis Deacon Frost uses computers to translate the Book of Erebus, with the ultimate aim of bringing down the old-guard vampire council, headed by Dragonetti, and triggering the Blood Tide — an event in which everyone in the world becomes a vampire.
1997 City of Industry …. Skip Kovich
Betrayal and revenge are the key ingredients of this violent, streetwise crime drama. Roy Egan was once a highly successful thief but has gotten out of the business and now leads a quiet life in the Midwest. He’s lured out of retirement by his brother, Lee; Lee figures that he’s come to the end of his rope as a small-time thief and wants to pull one last job that will earn him a healthy score. Lee and Roy devise a plan to knock over a jewelry store in Palm Springs and bring along two helpers, even-tempered family man Jorge and hot-headed driver Skip. The heist goes like clockwork, but afterward Skip turns on his partners and kills Lee and Jorge. Roy is able to escape and swears to avenge his brother’s death with the help of Jorge’s wife Rachel.

The trio goes through the asteroid belt and are captured by pirates, led by engineering wiz Captain Macanudo, who discovers the secret cargo of the army androids stolen from him by capitalist corp chief E.J. Saggs — who’s plotting an android takeover of Earth.

Desperate for a quick score to get himself out of debt, Alex sees a opportunity for a lot of fast money and hooks up with Victor, a career criminal who knows how to open safes but is desperately ill with tuberculosis.
1996 I Shot Andy Warhol …. Candy Darling
The true story of Valerie Solanas, the radical feminist who became notorious after shooting art world icon Andy Warhol, is portrayed in this fact-based drama. In an attempt to present a fair assessment of her actions, writer-director Mary Harron focuses on Solanas’ troubled life, from her childhood as an abuse victim to her life as teenage prostitute in New York City. These experiences left Solanas deeply scarred, contributing to a hatred of men that later found full flower in her famous “SCUM Manifesto,” an extremist tract calling for the establishment of a “Society for Cutting Up Men.” Deeply troubled, she nevertheless briefly finds hope after befriending young transvestite Candy Darling and discovering herself on the fringes of the wild, colorful world surrounding the eccentric Warhol. She becomes obsessed with the idea that Warhol’s support could change her life, only to become violently enraged when the artist and his friends begin to turn away from her.

Mia Farrow stars as annoying, air-headed housewife Rachel, who discovers on Christmas Eve that her husband Tom has arranged for a hit man to murder her. Barely escaping with her life into the snowy wastes of her neighborhood, Rachel crosses paths with a social worker, Lloyd, and Lloyd’s paraplegic, deaf and mute wife, Pooty. Rachel takes up house with the friendly couple, but Lloyd is not quite what he appears to be and the naïve Rachel is forced to flee. This time, her travels take her into contact with a variety of eccentric characters, including game show host Fast Tim Timko, the staff of a non-profit group, and a troubled nun. As she crosses America, Rachel visits all 50 states, although she repeatedly ends up in towns called Springfield.
1995 Innocent Lies …. Jeremy Graves
Alan Cross is a British detective who travels to a wealthy community along the coast of France in 1938; he’s there to attend the funeral of a friend and wants to find out more about the mysterious circumstances behind his friend’s death. Cross finds a privileged British family who were close to the deceased and who seem to live by their own set of rules. Helena Graves was good friends with the deceased, but she claims to know nothing about how he died. Helena’s daughter Celia is engaged to a hot-blooded American but has also been involved in an incestuous relationship with her brother Jeremy; Jeremy harbors a dark childhood secret regarding the death of his brother, and he is courting a Jewish woman, much to the chagrin of the anti-Semitic Helena. Cross becomes convinced that someone in the Graves family is to blame for the death, but it’s not until someone else dies that the truth begins to bubble to the surface.

The story is based upon the memories and insights of the 100-year old Mr. Simon Cinema. He lives in a magnificent house filled with movie memorabilia. To help him remember the important details of his career he hires Camille, a film student to write down his remembrances and experiences which have involved all areas of movie-making. Camille comes once a day for 101 days. Film clips, photographs and actual visitors highlight his stories. As he continues to spin his yarns, the imagery in the film smoothly morph into other images. Camille, when not recording, is involved in other exploits including a romance with a production assistant, Mica who aspires to becoming a director. She also begins plotting a way to get to Mr. Cinema’s fortune by having a friend pose as his long lost heir. Many other characters are peripherally involved including Death, an Italian seeking the rights to his film catalogue, and a memory specialist.
1994 S.F.W. …. Cliff Spab
Stephen Dorff stars as Cliff Spab, an aimless, hard-drinking youth. Spab becomes a national hero when he is one of several people held hostage by gun-toting terrorists in a convenience store. He doesn’t care much about his own life or anything else, and his attitude of “So f—ing what?” translates into debates with his terrorist captors and gloomy pronouncements that charm viewers. After a month-long siege, a crisis erupts when the store runs out of beer and junk food, so Cliff finds himself a free man whose celebrity image is emblazoned on t-shirts and whose presence is requested at a rock concert where he is required to do nothing other than appear. In the meantime, Spab’s girlfriend Wendy becomes a ubiquitous talk show guest.
1994 Backbeat …. Stuart Sutcliffe
The Beatles’ early days as a struggling bar band are depicted in this fact-based drama, which tells the little-known story of original member Stuart Sutcliffe. A close friend of John Lennon, Sutcliffe acts as the band’s original bassist, accompanying them on their early gigs in Liverpool and Hamburg, Germany. The friendship becomes strained, however, when Sutcliffe falls in love with a German art student and starts to question his commitment to the band. With Sutcliffe’s story taking center stage, the stories of the more famous Beatles largely fade into the background.

A cold, vicious and frightening criminal, Fallon and his band of thugs threaten to permanently silence the foursome after they witness a murder.
1993 An Ambush of Ghosts …. George Betts
Ten years earlier, George’s mother (Genvieve Bujold) ran over his younger brother in the family driveway and killed him. Since then, she’s been permanently out to lunch, and he has many responsibilities around the house. He’s a teenager now, with the usual insecurities that go along with that, but he also hasn’t reconciled the tragedy of his childhood. His difficulties are compounded when his schoolmate Christian (Alan Boyce) shows up on his doorstep asking for him to hide him; it turns out the boy has killed one of their classmates. George (Steven Dorff) is not willing to turn him in without taking some thought about it, and hides him for a while. Meanwhile, he acts as a go-between for Christian and his girlfriend Denise (Anne Heche), whom he develops feelings for. Eventually, the question of what is really real becomes an important one to find answers to.
1992 The Power of One …. P.K. Age 18
Seven-year-old P.K. (Guy Witcher) is a white South African raised on his family’s farm by his Zulu nanny. When his mother takes ill, he is sent away to an Afrikaner boarding school, where he is picked on and nearly killed by the school bully during a pep rally for Hitler. P.K. survives and is sent to live with his grandfather. He befriends Doc (Armin Mueller-Stahl), a jailed German musician, and a black inmate (Morgan Freeman), who teaches P.K. how to use his fists for some quick boxing moves. At 12, P.K. (now played by Simon Fenton), witnesses black inmates being cruelly humiliated by their racist white jailers. Taking note of P.K.’s fluidity for languages, his black mentor spreads the word that P.K. is the incarnation of the mythic Rain Maker, a messianic liberator who is destined to unite all the African tribes. By the time he’s 18 years old, P.K. (now played by Stephen Dorff) is becoming the Great White Hope for the black Africans, boxing his way into their hearts and minds. He joins up with an old boxing foe (Alois Moyo), who is now a township activist, and takes up the apartheid struggle. But things get confusing when P.K. falls in love with the daughter (Fay Masterson) of an apartheid leader.
1987 The Gate …. Glen
During a boring, routine weekend, young Glen and his best buddy Terry decide to explore Glen’s backyard. Before long, the boys come across a strange hole in the ground which yields all manner of sinister prizes. Offering a sacrifice in the form of a dead dog, Glen further opens the portals of Hades, through which pass some of the most hideous demons imaginable.
